Johnny Smoking Gun Whiskey

Upon meeting this snarky, unusual Michigan whiskey, my nose is wrapped with fresh cut firewood, butterscotch, wood smoke, dust, flint and burnt caramel. On the palate it’s hot and full-bodied, sweet with dark corn syrup. The finish is sweet, tannic and lingers on and on.  A happy marriage of 70% corn and 30% rye, the whiskey is macerated with secret blend of Asian tea.  This is the sauce that you pair with spicy Japanese ramen or a rich slice of slow roasted pork shoulder. Yum! For a distinctive craft whiskey, from Detroit, it’s a keeper.
